about

Denny Kay began his music career in Moscow, Russia. In the late 1980s he was a fan of the classic industrial bands like Skinny Puppy, Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb. Driven by the innovative sound of industrial music of that time, Denny began to experiment with analogue synthesizers. In 1992 he recorded his first Techno tracks on a Studio "Tandem", which recorded mainly Soviet pop musicians, but had young and very enthusiastic team of sound engineers. Together they developed the sound of the project IN'R'VOICE. In 1994, In'R'Voice became hugely popular on Moscow's first FM radio station "Maximum" and in fast growing night life of Soviet Russia. A year later he received an award for innovations in music from the Ministry of Culture of Russia and Artiada Art Festival, which is the only Soviet award for Electronic Music to date.

In 1996, Denny moved to London and got very close to the team of the cult British label "Return To The Source". He recorded collaboration tracks with Tim Healey and Seb Taylor and released his first vinyl at Return To The Source Records at 1999 Shakta and IN'R'VOICE – PRESENT MOMENT (with Tim Healey Remix). The first full length album was released at Brighton's Optica Records as In'R'Voice "Resonance Metaphizix" and it was mastered at the Abbey Road Studios in London.

Gigging like mad, Denny soon got very well known among European Progressive community, and lots of new project started to be developed: Den Kozlov, Denis Alexander, Emotion Code, T.E.C.H.O., Levitating Cat, Technokitsch, See You Later Oscillator, Overtone Epidemic, Shagging Harmonies, Peace Data, Moot, Karmahacker , Dive Craft, B.3.K., Decay Axiomatic, Record Needle Injection and many many other projects were released from Denny Kay worldwide. Also he released a record Den Kozlov – Inexplicable Premonitions in collaboration with jazz diva Samantha Farrell, the Grammy nominee from Boston. The album was released by New York's label System Recordings.

Being very discrete and hiding his identity under multiple projects, nevertheless he gained a fan following who were intrigued by his mysterious persona, who has such large amount of creative ideas in Electronic Music. Some fans are calling him Banksy in Techno, for his ever changing identity in the scene. More then 200 releases were made in total at such labels as System Recordings, Spiraltraxx, Distance, Dragonfly, Parvati, Return To The Source and many many others.

In 2007 Denny opened his first label Kissthesound (rebranded this year into Spiralmind Records), and later he opened Axiomatic and Ubertrend records. Ubertrend Records became very well known for the vanguard Dub Techno music and Denny's project Dive Craft.

After 20 years in London, becoming a British Citizen and carrying the large amount of experience in producing, performing and publishing Electronic Music, Denny Kay came back to Moscow. His first appearance as a musician was at Red Square with an Eclectic performance of noise and drone ambient in collaboration with a children choir "Kladets", who originally perform ancient and traditional Russian songs. Underground Electronic Music had never been performed at Moscow's Red Square ever before. Later it was released at Spiralmind Records.

His music plays at BBC and CHANNEL 4 documentaries, at international fashion shows and at World Fashion TV Channel, features in Media-Art projects by 3Plet Multimedia.

Denny Kay plays and performs Techno Music at top clubs in Moscow almost every week. His main trends are still his project In'R'Voice with Chillgressive music (currently a resident of Cosmicleaf records), Deep Techno and Acid Techno as Denny Kay, and Dub Techno as Dive Craft.
